Alice Jennings Scholarship for Year 12 female Koorie students


Scholarship details
  • Administered by the Department of Education
  • Valued at $1000
  • Available for the duration of the course, subject to satisfactory academic progress

Who can apply?
  • Female Koorie students who complete Year 12 in 2024 in a registered Victorian school and who will be commencing a full-time approved TAFE or university course in 2025, in a field that contributes to the welfare of the Koorie population (i.e. law, social work, education, psychology or applied science – health, nursing, etc.
  • Students involved in Koorie community activities

What to include with your application
  • Applicant's 2024 end-of-year academic results. Results must be entered via Step 2 of the online application form and must be verified by the school principal
  • Applicant's confirmation of enrolment in an approved TAFE or university course. Evidence will be required via email by 1 March 2025
  • Statement confirming the applicant’s involvement in Koorie community activities. The statement must be included in the 'Community Activities' section (Step 3 of the online application form)

Australian Veterans Children Assistance Trust


Scholarship details
  • Administered by the Australian Veterans’ Children’s Assistance Trust (AVCAT)
  • Valued approximately $4,000-$6,000 per year
  • Available for up to three years full time study (conditions apply)
  • Multiple scholarships awarded each year

Who can apply?
  • Only students who are a child or grandchild of a person who has operational service (as defined by the legislation) or three or more years of continuous full-time service, as a member of the Australian Navy, Army or Air Force
  • Students who are enrolled (or planning to enrol) in a full-time undergraduate, tertiary course of one or more academic years duration by attendance at an Australian tertiary institution
  • Students in receipt of, or eligible to receive, Centrelink payments including Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY, Austudy or an accepted means-tested Commonwealth government payment
  • Students who are Australian residents

Dafydd Lewis Trust Scholarships for Year 12 boys


Scholarship details
  • Administered by Equity Trustees
  • Valued at $10,000 per year for three years only
  • Dafydd Lewis Trust scholarships are only available to male students
  • Multiple new scholarships awarded each year

Who can apply?
  • The Dafydd Lewis Trust provides equity and merit-based scholarships of $10,000 a year for 3 years to young men who might not have otherwise received a University education due to the limited financial resources of their parents
  • All applicants will need to complete a means test to be eligible
  • Applicants who are under 19 years of age on 1st January 2024 (i.e. not yet 20) – exceptions apply for holders of humanitarian visas

Francis Gregory Foundation Scholarship for Year 12 students


Scholarship details
  • Administered by Francis Gregory Foundation Trustees
  • Valued at $6,000 per year (subject to annual review)
  • Available for the duration of the student’s undergraduate degree

Who can apply?
  • Registered Year 12 students who are Australian citizens
  • VCE students who achieve an ATAR greater than 80
  • VCE students who intend to undertake a full-time degree at any university in Australia
  • Students who are residents of Victoria and live in an FZ zone (as defined by the Victorian Government Department of Planning and Community Development) and whose parents own the property from which the main family income is derived
  • Students who can demonstrate financial hardship in relation to pursuing University studies

  • This scholarship is named in memory of Lilly Murphy, who was studying Year 12 studies at Princes Hill Secondary College when she became ill and tragically passed away in November 2021.

United World Colleges for Years 10 and 11 students


Scholarship details
  • Administered by United World Colleges (Australia) Trust Ltd
  • To study the International Baccalaureate (IB) at one of the 18 United World Colleges (UWC) overseas
  • Various scholarship schemes on offer with at least one full, and several partial scholarships awarded annually
  • Places for 2024 - 2026 entry will be released mid November 2023
  • Ideally, candidates will apply based on the desire to attend a UWC rather than go to a specific country, as the national Committee cannot guarantee that successful candidates will be offered their preferred location

Who can apply?
  • Australian citizens or permanent residents currently attending school in Australia
  • Students studying Years 10 and 11 (in 2023)
  • Students must have turned 16 but not yet 18 on August 1 2024
  • Students must have a strong academic record and supply end of Semester one and two reports for 2023

  • United World Colleges was founded in 1962. It is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of world peace through the education of young people.
  • Students in their last two years of secondary school are chosen from over eighty countries to attend one of the sixteen colleges around the world. The main objective is to educate outstanding young people from various national, ethnic and social backgrounds.
  • Students are assessed on their personal merit and potential, irrespective of race, creed, colour, gender, family background or ability to pay.
  • The first Australian students attended a UWC in 1972 and since then approximately 370 Australians have attended United World Colleges.
  • At present, nine Australian students are completing their IB at a UWC in in Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, The Netherlands and Armenia.

Who can apply?
  • Students who complete Year 10 in 2024 in a registered Victorian school
  • Students who are dependent on a sole parent/carer or whose parent/s are deceased
  • Students involved in school and community activities
  • Families or students who demonstrate financial need

What to include with your application
  • Applicant's 2024 end-of-year academic results (Step 2 of the online application form)
  • Statements confirming the applicant’s involvement in school and community activities (Step 3 of the online application form)
  • Evidence of the applicant's parent/carer receiving Centrelink benefits (for those students under the age of 16 years) and the applicant's guardian/parent holding either a valid Health Care Card, a valid Low Income Health Care Card or a Pensioner Concession Card or Youth Allowance, (Step 4 of the online application form - Centrelink Reference Number required)
