Who can apply?
  • Students completing Year 12 in 2017 in a registered Victorian government school who will commence full-time university in 2018
  • Students involved in school and community activities
  • Students who demonstrate financial need.

What documentation do you need to provide?
  • Applicant's 2017 academic results as evidence that VCE was completed in a Victorian government school
  • Applicant's confirmation of enrolment in an approved tertiary course – evidence will be required by 1 March 2018
  • Statements confirming the applicant’s involvement in school and community activities
  • Evidence of the applicant receiving Youth Allowance or the parent/guardian holding either a Health Care Card, a Low Income Health Care Card or a Pensioner Concession Card - Centrelink Reference Number required.

Alice Jennings Scholarship


Scholarship details

  • Available for the duration of the course, subject to satisfactory academic progress
  • One scholarship awarded each year.

Who can apply?
  • Female Koorie students who are currently completing Year 12 in 2017 in a registered Victorian school, who will be commencing a full-time approved TAFE or university course in 2018 in a field that contributes to the welfare of the Koorie population (i.e. law, social work, education, psychology or applied science – health production, nursing, etc
  • Students involved in Koorie community activities.

What documentation do you need to provide?
  • Applicant's 2017 academic results
  • Applicant's confirmation of enrolment in an approved TAFE or university course – evidence will be required by 1 March 2018
  • Statement confirming the applicant’s involvement in Koorie community activities.

Charlotte Wilson Scholarship


Scholarship details

  • Available for one year
  • One scholarship awarded each year.

Who can apply?
  • Australian citizens, female students who have completed their second year of training at the University of Melbourne in 2017 to qualify as a primary teacher, and
  • have completed their VCE in a registered Victorian government school, and
  • can demonstrate financial need.

What documentation you need to provide?
  • Applicant's 2017 University of Melbourne academic results
  • Evidence of the applicant receiving Youth Allowance and in receipt of either a Health Care Card, a Low Income Health Care Card or a Pensioner Concession Card - Centrelink Reference Number required.
  • Evidence that VCE was completed in a Victorian government school
  • Confirmation of re-enrolment for third year of teacher training in 2018 at Melbourne University should be scanned and emailed to studenscholarships@edumail.vic.gov.au by 1 March 2018.

Doris Evans Scholarship


Scholarship details

Who can apply?
  • Female student teachers who are currently completing their second year of teacher training in 2017 at an accredited tertiary institution in Victoria to qualify as a teacher of primary-aged children.
  • Female student teachers who will undertake their third year of teacher training in 2018 at an accredited tertiary institution in Victoria to qualify as a teacher of primary-aged children.
  • Female student teachers who have completed their VCE in a registered Victorian non-metropolitan government school.
  • Female student teachers who are not holders of any other scholarships.
  • Female student teachers who demonstrate financial need.

What documentation you need to provide?
  • Applicant's 2017 academic results.
  • Evidence of the applicant receiving Youth Allowance or the applicant's parent/guardian holding either a Health Care Card, a Low Income Health Care Card or a Pensioner Concession Card (Card Reference Number required).
  • VCE results as evidence that VCE was completed in a Victorian non-metropolitan government school.

Ella Donald Service Fine Arts Memorial Scholarships

Who can apply?
  • Student who are currently completing VCE in 2017 in a registered Victorian government school
  • Students who will commence a full-time fine arts degree or diploma in 2018
  • Students under 21 years of age who demonstrate financial need.

What documentation you need to provide?
  • Applicant's 2017 academic results
  • Applicant's 2018 confirmation of enrolment in a full-time fine arts course – evidence will be required by 1 March 2018
  • VCE results as evidence that VCE was completed in a Victorian government school

Francis Gregory Foundation Scholarship


Scholarship details
  • Administered by Francis Gregory Foundation Trustees
  • Valued at $6,000 per year (subject to annual review)
  • Available for the duration of the student’s undergraduate degree
  • Two scholarships awarded each year.

Who can apply?
  • Registered VCE students who are Australian citizens
  • VCE students who have achieved an ATAR score greater than 80 in 2017
  • VCE students who intend to undertake a full-time degree at any university in Australia in 2018
  • Students who are residents of Victoria and live in an FZ zone (as defined by the Victorian Government Department of Planning and Community Development) and whose parents own the property from which the main family income is derived
  • Students who can demonstrate financial hardship in relation to pursuing University studies
  • Students who are between the age of 17 and 20 as of 1st January 2018.

  • Written report/statement from applicant
  • Written report/statement from principal and referees
  • Evidence of the applicant’s ATAR score (when available)
  • Signed parent's financial statement document.

  • The Francis Gregory Foundation was established in 2012 and the first scholarships were awarded in 2013. The scholarship has been established to provide financial support to children of primary producers, to assist them to undertake University undergraduate studies by reducing financial barriers.

Marrung Education Scholarships


Scholarship details
  • Sponsored by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
  • Valued at $5,000 ($2,500 per year)
  • Available for two years
  • Twenty scholarships awarded each year.

Who can apply?
    Wannik Education Scholarships are for students who:
  • are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • are completing Year 10 at a Victorian government school in 2017
  • are planning on completing Year 11 and 12 at a Victorian government school commencing in 2018.

What documentation you need to provide?
  • Applicant's 2017 Year 10 school reports.
  • Referee reports confirming the applicant’s involvement in school and Koorie community activities.
  • Name and contact details from a school referee, eg. school principal or teacher.
  • Name and contact details from a community referee, eg. Koorie Elder, Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (LAECG) Chairperson or Koorie Engagement Support Officer (KESO).
  • Signed media consent form.

Additional Information
  • Scholarship payments are made to the student's family before the start of the school year.
  • Schools are requested to complete a report annually confirming the student's satisfactory progress.
  • At the end of Year 12, students must complete an evaluation questionnaire.
  • Scholarships are awarded on the understanding that schools will liaise with the student and family, and seek advice and support from the Koorie Education Workforce where appropriate.
