Task Description Students have been comparing the eating habits of young Japanese with those of Australians. In this task they interview their language assistant about her perspective on the differences and similarities in eating Japanese- and Australian-style.

Students first prepare eight interview questions along with suitable phrases for greetings and closing the interview. They then record the interview, in which they ask their questions, including at least one unrehearsed question in direct response to the interviewee's comments. They must also answer simple questions put by the interviewee.
