Diversity and Equity
The Department is committed to diversity and the principle of equal opportunity in education, training and employment for staff and students. Equal Opportunity is a requirement under Commonwealth and State legislation, and essential to the well being of all. We all have a responsibility to ensure schools and Department workplaces are safe and inclusive, free of discrimination, harassment, bullying, vilification, victimisation and otherwise unlawful and unacceptable behaviours.
The Department aims to foster a culture of acceptance, dignity and respect for diversity. All staff, students, parents, school council members, contractors and volunteers should adhere to these principles.
Managers and Principals are responsible for ensuring that diversity, equal opportunity and anti harassment principles and practices are followed and integrated into appropriate planning.
Relevant legislation, Departmental policies, related programs and resources are provided on this website.
