Teacher Registration
The Education and Training Reform Act 2006 requires that all teachers in Victoria obtain registration or permission to teach from the Victorian Institute of Teaching (The Institute) before they can be employed in any Victorian school, including Victorian Government Schools.
When offering employment principals must ensure that all new prospective teaching employees provide evidence of registration with the Institute.
