English Developmental Continuum P-10 – Speaking and Listening

Transcript for Speaking and Listening Standards at level 2.0

At level 2, students listen to and produce spoken texts that deal with familiar ideas and information, for example:

  • They listen to others and respond appropriately to what has been said

Teacher: Are there any other ways that we can use to communicate?

Student: Well we can use walkie talkies like if because if maybe sometimes when some-one’s in you give some-one a walkie talkie and they are in a different house and you’ve got one of them and it’s the same and you can, it can travel all the way to that person’s house.

Teacher: So I could be in another house?

-----

Student: Yes and another person in another house and there’s electric walkie talkies and there’s and you’re in the other house and you had one, and I gave it to you, I could talk to you.
