Transcript for Reading Standards at level 1.75

A student who is progressing towards the Level 2 Reading Standard and who is presently at 1.75

 

  • Can respond to ideas in short print and electronic texts

Teacher: ‘So what’s happened in the end of the book?’

Student: ‘Um…she let the spider go into the bushes.

Teacher: ‘So why do you think she did that?’

Student: ‘So, um…so the spider won’t come back’

Teacher: ‘Why, why didn’t she want the spider to come back?’

Student: ‘Because she was scare…it was scaring her.’

Teacher: ‘That’s very good’.

Student: ‘Hello Matthew’, he said, ‘why aren’t you playing?’

(recorded voice): ‘Hello Matthew’, he said, ‘why aren’t you playing?’

Teacher: Taran, why do you think Matthews not playing marbles?’

Student: ‘Because he’s only got three marbles left and he thinks he wouldn’t win any more.
