  • Can use context and information about words, letters, combinations of letters and sounds associated with them to make meaning

Student: ‘…This is my new football. You can come and play with it. ‘Yes’ said Harry.’ Come on. We all…will go and play and play with your football.’

Teacher: ‘When you read this part here you said, first of all you said ‘We all go and play.’ And then you corrected this word and you said ‘We will go and play’. Can you tell me what you did to correct that word?

Student: ‘I sound it out’

Teacher: ‘And what letter did you see at the beginning of the word?’
